About the position

The Crew Chief II position at Signature Flight Support Corporation involves direct supervision of A&P Technicians, Avionics Technicians, and Interior Technicians. The role is responsible for ensuring maintenance schedules are met, coordinating manpower and resources, and maintaining compliance with FAA regulations. The Crew Chief II also plays a key role in training and mentoring technicians, addressing performance issues, and ensuring safety regulations are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise A&P Technicians, Avionics Technicians, and Interior Technicians.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for technicians.
  • Appraise performance and address complaints.
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are met by coordinating manpower and resources.
  • Assign and supervise the work of technicians and assist in problem cases.
  • Maintain aircraft and operation records in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Instruct personnel in safety regulations and monitor compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of new aircraft systems and maintenance equipment.
  • Coordinate with customer representatives and other departments.
  • Assist with invoicing and related tasks.
  • Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Assist and train technicians in repairs when needed.
  • Create estimates for customer approval.
  • Act as backup for direct supervisors and managers.
  • Comply with attendance and tardiness standards.

Requirements

  • Must have A&P license or Repairman related to position for Avionics and/or Interiors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6-10 years of relevant aviation experience.
  • Experience as a Crew Chief II or similar role.
  • Military training, aeronautical academy, or technical school training, or an Aviation Associates Degree.
  • Previous general aviation experience required.
  • Proven mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with personnel from other departments.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Basic computer skills.
