About the position

The Crew Chief position at Olympia Moving & Storage involves leading and mentoring a moving team while ensuring exceptional service during residential and commercial moves. The role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Crew Chiefs are expected to manage daily operations, train team members, and serve as the primary contact for clients on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and mentor a moving team
• Communicate with clients as the primary on-site contact
• Collaborate with operations, warehouse, and staff
• Use resources to solve problems and overcome obstacles
• Work on both residential and commercial moving jobs
• Train and coach others on how to pack household items
• Assist with and direct team to carry heavy items up & down stairs
• Ensure crew protects the home and furniture during moves
• Train and assist others on best practices to disassemble & re-assemble furniture
• Complete billing, paperwork, inventories and reporting on a mobile platform

Requirements

• Prior moving crew chief-foreman experience preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have reliable transportation to branch location and valid driver's license
• Must have authorization to work in the United States for any employer
• Must be willing to undergo a criminal background investigation
• Above average energy, attention to detail, and organization skills
• Ability to lift 50-75+ pounds regularly
• Ability to be on your feet 6 to 10 hours a day
• Must be a team player and ready to tackle any challenge
• Available for on-time very early a.m. dispatch
• High school or GED equivalent
