About the position

The Crew Compensation Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the processing and maintenance of crew compensation and related controls at Atlas Air, Inc. This position involves auditing, processing, and reviewing pay reports, as well as managing sick and vacation tracking systems. The analyst is responsible for providing customer service and support to crewmembers regarding compensation and pay disbursement matters, ensuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The role requires a meticulous approach to maintain an 'audit-ready' posture at all times, particularly in relation to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance controls for compensation. In this position, the analyst will prepare ad hoc reports to meet compliance and internal reporting requirements. They will also be tasked with answering procedural questions from Flight Deck Crew, researching and resolving pay discrepancies, and ensuring accurate and timely pay through the reporting of monthly bid line guarantee hours and displacement credit hours using AIMS and Microsoft Excel. The analyst will review and maintain crew sick and vacation hours from Dayforce, generate various reports to reconcile balances, and audit flight crew travel expense reimbursement requests for compliance with the CBA and company procedures. Additionally, the Crew Compensation Analyst will create, publish, and monitor standard operating procedures to ensure continual compliance with SOX 404, the CBA, and internal controls. They will support the analysis of department processes to improve service quality, productivity, and efficiency, and modify processes as directed by management. Monthly audits will be performed to ensure the accuracy of crew compensation pay adjustments, and the analyst will maintain accurate records and prepare per diem/rig calculations from Excel. Collaboration with Human Resources is essential to support processes involving crew compensation, including sick and vacation balances, medical and personal leave, and workers' compensation. The analyst will also participate in special projects within Flight Operations as needed, maintaining knowledge of CBA and crew compensation operations by consistently following policies and procedures, auditing records, and documenting procedural changes.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Crew Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance controls for compensation maintaining an ‘audit-ready' posture at all times.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports to ensure compliance and internal reporting requirements.
  • Provide customer service to Flight Deck Crew regarding crew compensation by answering procedural questions, researching and resolving pay discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Report and record monthly bid line guarantee hours utilizing AIMS to ensure accurate and timely pay to crewmembers and management.
  • Utilize AIMS and Microsoft Excel to report and record monthly displacement credit hours to ensure accurate and timely pay to crewmembers and management to ratify bid line credit.
  • Review and maintain crew sick and vacation hours from Dayforce to ensure accuracy at all times.
  • Generate and review various reports to reconcile balances to ensure compliance with the CBA.
  • Review and audit all flight crew travel expense reimbursement requests for compliance and accuracy with the CBA and company procedures and guidelines.
  • Create, publish and monitor standard operating procedures to ensure continual compliance with SOX 404, the CBA and internal controls.
  • Support in the analysis of department processes to improve service quality, productivity and efficiency.
  • Modify processes to adapt to changing demands and objectives as directed by management.

  • Prepare per diem/rig calculations from Excel and report any discrepancy to management for validation or resolution.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to support processes that involve crew compensation, including sick and/or vacation balances, medical and personal leave and workers compensation.
  • Participate and contribute to special projects and requests within Flight Operations where appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of CBA and crew compensation operations by consistently following policies and procedures; auditing current records and documenting or reporting procedural changes.
  • Support cross-team collaboration with other functional areas on project priorities, plans and reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience, knowledge and understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreements required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting, payroll or a similar role.
  • Experience with information system integration, project management, and internal controls.
  • General knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • General knowledge of standard operating procedures of 121 and 117 regulations.
  • General knowledge of Flight Operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other data related software is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
  • Experience with Dayforce or similar human capital management & Payroll software is a plus.
  • Payroll administration experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AIMS or any other integrated Airline Information System is preferred.
