Crew Member/Shift Leader

About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Shift Leader to join our team in a fast-paced café environment. The Shift Leader will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations during their shift, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of staff members. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for the food industry, and the ability to drive sales while maintaining high standards of food safety and service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the café, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve sales goals.
• Manage cash handling procedures, including operating the POS system accurately.
• Train new employees on food safety practices, customer service standards, and operational procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café in compliance with health regulations.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints professionally.
• Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and conducting stock checks.
• Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance productivity.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership role within the food service or retail industry.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to drive revenue through exceptional service.
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail math for accurate transactions.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive experiences for guests.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
