About the position

As a key member of the Crew Planning Team, this role supports the development of efficient crew schedules and staffing plans that enhance operational reliability, workforce engagement, and cost-effectiveness. By balancing labor costs, contractual agreements, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), this position contributes to delivering industry-leading schedule reliability while ensuring the airline is staffed with trained and ready crew members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing and forecasting crew staffing requirements based on flight schedules, ensuring the right number of trained pilots and flight attendants are available to meet operational needs.
  • Support the Crew Planning Team in managing monthly crew staffing and pairings, ensuring alignment with labor agreements, operational reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Contribute to the evolution of crew base structures by modeling and recommending cost-effective alternatives that support growth and operational stability.
  • Assist the Crew Bid Administration Team in the monthly crew schedule bidding and award process, as well as the system position vacancy bid process for pilots and flight attendants.
  • Collaborate with the Crew Planning and Crew Bid Administration teams to enhance processes, reduce costs, minimize errors, and improve workforce engagement.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Marketing and Schedule Planning departments to align block hours with future schedules, identifying and recommending optimizations to maximize efficiency.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5-7 years' experience in Aviation or Transportation.
  • Airline Crew Planning/Resource experience.
  • Experience with SABRE/FLICA or other Crew Management Systems and Pairing Optimization software required.
  • Experience with S3RUS Pairing and Bid line Optimizer preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Power point, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skill.
