About the position

The User Support Technician II at Central Regional Hospital serves as the first point of contact for technical assistance, providing support to staff across various disciplines. This role involves documenting and tracking support tickets, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with the configuration and maintenance of desktop systems and other end-user devices. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including on-call duties and overtime, particularly during adverse weather events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for staff across all disciplines of Central Regional Hospital.
  • Document and track support tickets for technical assistance requests.
  • Assist computer users with first and second level issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
  • Configure, deploy, integrate, and maintain desktop computer systems, printers, and other end-user devices.
  • Support Microsoft Office 365 and troubleshoot web-based applications and various web browsers.
  • Manage desktops and laptops in a medium or larger LAN environment using industry-standard technologies.
  • Work within a Microsoft Active Directory based network, managing file permissions and user administration.
  • Mentor junior level technicians and serve as a backup for various systems as needed.

Requirements

  • Direct, hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting desktop computers with Windows 10 and 11 in a Help Desk environment.
  • Ability to support Microsoft Office 365 and experience with web-based applications.
  • Experience managing desktops and laptops in a LAN environment with industry-standard technologies.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including managed switches and DHCP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, including managing file permissions and print management.
  • High-level customer service and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduation from a two-year technical college with a major in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Experience with Service Now, Ivanti, Tanium, Crowdstrike, and other relevant applications.
  • Applicable certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+.
