About the position

The Crime Analyst position at 22nd Century Technologies, Inc. involves providing critical analysis and intelligence support to the Crime Analysis Unit (CAU) within a law enforcement context. The role focuses on identifying crime patterns, assisting investigations, and developing strategies to enhance public safety. This full-time contract position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective crime analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely information on levels and patterns of criminal activity, calls for service, and offender activity to identify problem areas.
  • Assist investigating personnel by providing intelligence information to help with clearing cases through arrest.
  • Provide timely recommendations on alternative programs, strategies, and solutions to identified problems.
  • Provide relevant historical information on trends and patterns of criminal activity.
  • Develop, coordinate, and review data gathering and dissemination procedures for the CAU.
  • Research and identify new ways to enhance the crime analysis function.
  • Ensure consistency in the creation of reports and other output documents.
  • Analyze and compare modus operandi (MO) of suspects to similarly reported offenses.
  • Provide intelligence information to investigative personnel.
  • Assist with gathering, assessing, and analyzing data for CORE presentations.
  • Process requests for station level information and vet media requests.
  • Identify opportunities for proactive law enforcement efforts.
  • Brief commanders and squad supervisors on ongoing criminal activity.
  • Support commanders and crime prevention officers in community meetings.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in criminal investigation.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Access.
