About The Position

The Crime and Intelligence Analyst position involves conducting in-depth studies related to crime, analyzing trends and patterns, and disseminating information pertinent to criminal activities. The role supports the Los Angeles Police Department and neighboring law enforcement agencies in resource deployment for crime prevention and intervention, and may include mentoring responsibilities.

Requirements

• Two years of full-time paid professional experience in a class at the level of Management Assistant performing duties in researching, compiling, and analyzing crime trends and patterns in a law enforcement agency.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and completion of a Certificate Program in Crime and Intelligence Analysis from an accredited college or university.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in law enforcement or public safety analysis.
• Familiarity with crime mapping software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform responsible crime-related studies and compile maps of crime trends and patterns.
• Disseminate information related to criminal activity.
• Assist patrol, investigative, and administrative staff in planning resource deployment for crime prevention, intervention, and suppression.
• Support all Los Angeles Police Department and neighboring law enforcement Crime Trend Details.
• May serve as a professional mentor.
• Perform related work as required.
