About the position

The Crime Intelligence Analyst I position within the Criminal Investigations Division of the Department of Financial Services is responsible for supporting investigations related to various forms of fraud, including insurance fraud and arson. The role involves analyzing criminal intelligence data, preparing reports, and assisting investigators in their efforts to combat fraudulent activities. The analyst will also coordinate information dissemination among law enforcement agencies and participate in disaster response efforts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform criminal history and intelligence checks for investigations.
  • Support investigators in compiling and analyzing confidential information regarding insurance fraud and arson investigations.
  • Compile, analyze, and disseminate information and criminal intelligence from various sources.
  • Evaluate and analyze criminal intelligence information to recommend investigative strategies.
  • Prepare oral briefings, written reports, and recommendations for agency management.
  • Serve as Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for FCIC/NCIC terminal, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
  • Respond to requests for information from other agencies and represent the Division in meetings.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, or in a law enforcement agency.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in criminal intelligence, financial analysis, military intelligence, or investigative analysis.
  • Experience in financial analysis, forensic analysis, statistical analysis, or crime analysis.
  • Bilingual verbal and written skills that meet a critical need of the agency's mission.
