About the position

The Criminal Investigator 1 position at the Georgia Department of Corrections involves conducting criminal and administrative investigations within the corrections system. Responsibilities

• Conduct criminal and administrative investigations within the corrections system.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to corrections.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation of investigations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
• Participate in training and development programs as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program certification OR two years of experience in law enforcement or a related field AND P.O.S.T. certification.
• Some positions may require a valid Class C driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Two years of experience as a sworn staff member in law enforcement or corrections.
• Two years of experience in criminal and/or administrative investigations.
• Completion of Basic Law Enforcement (PBLE) Certification.
• Completion of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) Certification.
