Ardelle Associates, a veteran-owned company providing Consulting and Support Services to government agencies and contractors, is seeking a dedicated Paralegal with experience in Criminal cases to join our team in order to support the DOJ/U.S. Attorneys Office (USAO) in Newark, NJ. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values quality service and professionalism. The Criminal Paralegal will provide essential support on pending investigations and cases within the Criminal Division, performing a variety of administrative and case-support functions. This includes document management and review, conducting searches within various data and document sets, and analyzing and summarizing various data sets. The role requires effective case file organization and management, as well as the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of staff, including legal support staff and Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of legal documents such as indictments, complaints, affidavits, motions, orders, subpoenas, search warrants, briefs, and memoranda. They will also be tasked with obtaining information from files, law enforcement agencies, or other sources, and may assist with interviews of agents and potential witnesses. The role involves reviewing, summarizing, and outlining grand jury and/or trial testimony, as well as researching, analyzing, and summarizing relevant legal precedents. The Criminal Paralegal will monitor the progress of pending cases, ensuring that legal documents and other materials are prepared and submitted within established deadlines, and will compile, organize, and index various discovery and evidence exhibits for trial. This position requires proficiency in using MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional, along with familiarity with document management systems such as Eclipse, Relativity, and/or Casemap. Strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and attention to detail are essential for managing large volumes of digital evidence and documents. The candidate should have a strong background in research and analytical skills, particularly in the legal field, and be able to work effectively as part of a team in a professional office setting. The role is full-time, with a standard 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, and federal holidays provided.
