About the position
The Crisis Care Clinician at Sinnissippi Centers is responsible for providing immediate support to individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. This role involves conducting assessments in various community settings, including emergency rooms and police departments, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate care and resources are available for clients. The position emphasizes a recovery-oriented approach and requires flexibility to work in different locations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct crisis evaluations and dispositions for individuals in behavioral health emergencies.
- Complete mental health and substance abuse assessments for clients in crisis, either face-to-face or via telehealth.
- Document assessments and recommendations in the patient's medical records within required timeframes.
- Assist in locating available facilities for patient care outside the local community.
- Obtain insurance authorizations for patient services.
- Connect patients with community resources to support their recovery.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field, or a practical nurse license under the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Flexibility and motivation to support team tasks in various locations.
- Reliable transportation.
