About the position

The Crisis Case Manager at Jefferson Center for Mental Health plays a vital role in providing high-quality client care through both the Walk-In Center and the Mobile Crisis Team. This full-time position focuses on supporting individuals in crisis by offering direct client services and performing essential administrative tasks. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure clients receive the necessary support and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Answer crisis phones and initiate follow-up calls.
  • Serve as co-therapist on mobile crisis calls as directed by supervisor or lead clinician.
  • Complete initial documentation for clients coming to the Walk-In Center.
  • Meet face-to-face with crisis clients as approved by supervisor.
  • Obtain collateral information from family, significant others, and other providers as appropriate.
  • Assist with bed searches for clients needing 24-hour care.
  • Complete pre-admissions as needed.
  • Link clients to needed follow-up services as appropriate.
  • Send and receive faxes from and to other behavioral health providers.
  • Complete documentation in compliance with Jefferson Center guidelines.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and team meetings as directed.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment.
  • Maintain effective interpersonal relations with consumers, peers, subordinates, upper management, visitors, and the general public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in counseling, psychology, or related field required.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training working with mental health clients required.
  • Previous crisis experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record while employed at Jefferson Center.
  • Meets the requirements of applicable federal, state, and organizational background checks.
  • Motor Vehicle Insurance Coverage requires applicant must be 25 years or older.
  • Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving record as determined by our insurance carrier.
