About the position

The Crisis Center Clinician is a part-time role focused on providing immediate support and assessment to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises at the Crisis Access Point (CAP). This position involves leading a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective triage and referral processes, and maintaining compliance with agency regulations. The clinician will work primarily on weekends, providing compassionate care and oversight to team members while aiming to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations or law enforcement involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Triage individuals presenting at the CAP by assessing their behavioral health needs.
  • Provide full assessments and complete agency intake documentation when clinically appropriate.
  • Assess the appropriateness and readiness of referrals for services, both internally and externally.
  • Function as the lead for the multi-disciplinary team, providing supervision to staff on shift at the CAP.
  • Collaborate with team members and external partners to provide holistic services.
  • Maintain client records in compliance with agency and state regulations.
  • Provide culturally competent services to meet the unique needs of clients and families.
  • Interface with community partners such as law enforcement and emergency medical personnel.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field required.
  • Must be a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or a Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) or a licensed therapist with at least two years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of DSM-5 required.
  • If a licensed therapist, must have relevant licensure (PLPC, LMSW, PLMFT, LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
  • If a QAP, must have relevant certification (CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, CCJP, CCDP).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a crisis intervention setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources for referrals.
  • Supervisory experience.
