About the position

The Crisis Intervention Specialist at The Open Door of Indiana, Pennsylvania, plays a crucial role in providing immediate support and intervention for individuals facing mental health crises. This position involves managing crisis situations through telephone, walk-in, and mobile services, ensuring that individuals receive the necessary assessments and referrals to promote recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Management of telephone, walk-in, and mobile crisis situations
• Management of business calls and contacts
• Conduct a formal assessment and complete necessary documents
• Provide clinical intervention and support to individuals in crisis
• Attempt to divert out of home placement when possible
• Provide up to two face-to-face or telephone follow-ups after the initial contact
• Provide accurate information and referrals to contacts
• Attend required trainings and meetings
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely, including crisis assessment forms, expense reports, time sheets, and activity logs
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Criminology, Nursing, or another Health and Human Services related field
• Total of 2 years direct service experience
• At least 1 year experience in Mental Health or a related field preferred
• Valid Driver's License
• Covid-19 vaccination (with medical and religious exemptions considered)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Patient assessment
• Knowledge of Spanish
• Willingness to travel 50%
