About the position
The Crisis Prevention De-escalation Trainer at Children's Wisconsin is responsible for providing behavioral health educational support services to staff through training and direct care consultation. This role is integral to the implementation of the Marcus Crisis Prevention System (MCPP) and involves working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance staff education and ensure fidelity in crisis prevention practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide whole child behavioral health educational support services to staff.
- Deliver training and direct care consultation/coaching within various care settings.
- Support the system-wide rollout of the Marcus Crisis Prevention System (MCPP).
- Monitor fidelity of training through observation and coaching.
- Engage in direct service work with the Behavioral Assessment Team.
- Communicate behavioral concepts clearly to staff and team members.
- Adapt communication styles to fit the needs of the treatment setting and patient population.
Requirements
- 2 years of related work experience in behavioral health, including Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or inpatient or residential treatment.
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
- Ability to complete formal training in Trauma Informed Care Initiatives.
- Ability to move quickly and engage in physical activity regularly.
- MCPP Trainer certification required within 6 months of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds and trauma histories.
- Experience charting in and working with Electronic Health Records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite platforms.
