About the position

The Crisis Response Technician at Temple University Health System plays a vital role in providing triage, crisis counseling, and patient education. This part-time position involves assisting patients and their families, ensuring a safe therapeutic environment, and facilitating involuntary commitments when necessary. The technician will also participate in patient registration and insurance validation, contributing to the overall care and support of individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and crisis counseling for patients.
• Provide education to patients and their families.
• Refer and link patients to community resources and programs.
• Assist in the registration of patients and validation of insurance coverage.
• Collect and document assessment information.
• Monitor patients to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Assist petitioners in completing involuntary commitments.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in a relevant field (Required).
• 1 year of experience in a mental health-related role with an Associates Degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, social work, human services, criminal justice, or education (Required).
• 2 years of experience in human services with at least 1 year in direct client contact and an Associates Degree in any other course work (Required).
• 1 year of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in any other course work or an LPN from an accredited nursing or vocational school (Preferred).
• Valid BLS - Basic Life Support certification (Required).

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree with coursework in counseling, sociology, psychology, human services, social work, criminal justice, or education (Preferred).
