About The Position

The Crisis Stabilization Counselor/QMHP-A/QMHP-C role involves providing crisis stabilization services to adults at imminent risk of hospitalization due to acute mental health conditions. The position requires working in community settings to deliver short-term services, coordinating treatment plans, and engaging families in crisis intervention. The counselor will also facilitate admissions and discharge preparations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Must obtain QMHP registration from the Virginia Board of Counseling.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain an official copy of college transcript.
• Must possess ACTIVE valid car insurance coverage.
• Experience providing Crisis Stabilization services or knowledge of community mental health services and resources.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service Field (Preferred).
• Spanish language skills (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis stabilization services to adults experiencing acute mental health conditions.
• Coordinate the development and timely submission of Individualized Service Plans and required program documentation.
• Maintain compliance with DBHDS and Medicaid standards.
• Complete Serious Incident Reports within 24 hours.
• Meet weekly with clinical supervisor to staff and assign/reassign cases.
• Perform client file audits to ensure compliance with Medicaid and DBHDS standards.
• Complete safety planning on the first day of service initiation.
• Investigate and report Human Rights reportable incidents according to agency policies.
• Adhere to agency policies and complete tasks assigned by Crisis Supervisor and Program Director.
