About the position

Valley Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our multidisciplinary and collegial critical care team at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to partner with a dedicated team of physicians and mid-level providers in a highly managed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of APP experience, with a preference for those who have ICU experience. Procedural skills are essential, including experience with central and arterial lines, chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, endotracheal intubation, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is helpful. The role involves rotating shifts that encompass both day and night schedules, providing a high quality of life with ample time off. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and mid-level providers in the ICU.
  • Provide high-quality critical care to patients in a managed ICU setting.
  • Perform necessary procedures including central and arterial lines, chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and endotracheal intubation.
  • Participate in rotating shifts that include both day and night schedules.
  • Maintain ACLS certification and apply it in critical care situations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of Advanced Practice Provider experience.
  • ICU experience preferred.
  • Proficient in performing critical care procedures such as central and arterial lines, chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and endotracheal intubation.
  • ACLS certification is helpful.
