About the position

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is seeking experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses and Critical Care Registered Nurse Trainees for the Emergency Department. This role involves planning, evaluating, and implementing patient care in accordance with established standards of practice. The Critical Care RN Trainee position is designed for experienced RNs looking to transition into a new specialty, providing an opportunity for career advancement. Upon successful completion of the preceptorship or orientation and obtaining the necessary specialty certifications, incumbents will automatically advance to the Journey Level. This position offers a competitive salary range, with the potential for increased earnings through the Modified Benefit Option (MBO), which allows for a higher base pay with modified benefits. The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility, providing comprehensive care including a regional burn center, a stroke center, and a level I trauma center, making it an ideal environment for professional growth and development in critical care nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, evaluate, and implement patient care according to accepted standards of practice.
  • Provide critical care to patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in critical care nursing.

Requirements

  • One year of full-time equivalent experience as a licensed registered nurse.
  • Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Critical Care RNs must also possess Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale Certification, and PALS Certification at the time of application.
  • Within six months of hire, must obtain Management of Assaultive Behavior Certification and either a Critical Care Course, Critical Care RN Certification, or Certified Emergency Nurse Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is desired.
  • Experience and certifications in an Emergency Department are preferred.
