About the position

As a Critical Environment Program Manager in the Cloud Operation & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will play a vital role in managing the infrastructure and foundational technologies that support Microsoft's online services. This position focuses on ensuring the operational efficiency and sustainability of data centers, which are crucial for delivering services to millions of customers worldwide. You will be responsible for financial management, project oversight, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance service delivery and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise related to financial controllership of data center finances.
  • Manage the financial and commercial aspects of site contracts, including related PO and invoice review.
  • Prepare quarterly spend management review material at the data center site.
  • Assist with tracking of data center maintenance and repair activities.
  • Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic projects to realize savings.
  • Leverage local subject matter experts' knowledge to spread adoption of best practices.
  • Act on opportunities to increase agility and contribute to workflows that evolve processes, services, and solutions for Operation and Service Level Agreements.
  • Coordinate closely with data center field operations to foster alignment and partnership for business success.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years of experience delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments OR 3+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements, including a Cloud background check every two years.
  • 2+ years of experience in Critical Environment infrastructure (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructure (e.g., Server, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosure).
  • Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunication, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Applicable certifications: ASICS, CompTIA, Network Certification, PMP, ITIL, CDCP.
  • 2+ years of experience with critical environment maintenance and repair cost management.
  • 2+ years of experience with industry program and project management skills.
  • 2+ years of experience working with collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams).
  • 2+ years of experience with reporting and data analysis systems & platforms (e.g., PowerBI).

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with stakeholders and senior management.
