Sysco Data Center Operations is seeking a detail-oriented Critical Environment Engineer to oversee the management of rack, power, and patching of all equipment within our data center environment. This role is situated in a global and fast-paced technology environment where regular MAC (move, add, change) work is conducted. The Critical Environment Engineer will be responsible for performing hands-on tasks as well as coordinating with vendor management for remote hands/eyes to ensure the completion of all MAC work. This position plays a crucial role in the monitoring and alerting systems for all Sysco data centers, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. As a subject matter expert, the engineer will install, troubleshoot, repair, and manage the lifecycle of all environmental monitoring devices, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and other equipment within the data center. Maintaining accurate information in the Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tool is essential, as is coordinating, scheduling, and documenting change control requirements related to various activities. Collaboration is key in this role, as the engineer will work with remote hands and partner teams globally to ensure timely and correct repairs and installations of server hardware, network devices, and cross-connects to exchanges and counterparties. Additionally, the engineer will develop and maintain cable schedules and material stock requirements, as well as create rack-level elevations and patching methodologies to optimize the data center's operational efficiency.
