About the position
The Critical Operations Manager I at Quality Technology Services, LLC is responsible for overseeing the technical strategy and continuous improvement of the Data Center facility at the Hillsboro, OR campus. This role involves managing electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and data center infrastructure management systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading teams in preventative and corrective maintenance. The position requires on-site work in a 24/7 data center environment and focuses on enhancing energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and implement facility policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.
- Develop and maintain efficient maintenance operations to ensure 100% uptime of critical systems.
- Create emergency response plans and manage incident reporting for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for facility operations.
- Oversee building cleanliness and preservation operations.
- Partner with various departments to deploy and maintain customer environments.
- Conduct sales and customer tours and audits.
- Ensure proactive delivery of corporate services and business continuity planning.
- Negotiate improvement project contracts as needed.
- Supervise, train, and develop employees, establishing performance goals and monitoring progress.
Requirements
- Five or more years of workplace or professional equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of people leadership experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Seven or more years of experience in a data center environment.
- Five or more years of people leadership experience specifically in a data center.
- Bachelor or Master degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
