About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of a new product utilizing Microsoft's Azure Cloud Platform within the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology sector. This role involves managing a team of engineers and contractors, collaborating with global teams, and ensuring adherence to technical strategies and architecture while driving innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of engineers and less experienced managers.
  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and non-functional requirements with each release.
  • Engage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate technical strategies and enable application migration paths.
  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for resolving technology roadblocks and managing the software development cycle.
  • Act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and teams to remove impediments and encourage a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Build engineering skills in the codebase, conduct peer reviews, and guide design as needed.
  • Interpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within technology functions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to drive user satisfaction and influence technology requirements in the product roadmap.
  • Interact directly with third-party vendors and technology service providers.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering, including career development and performance management.
  • Hire, mentor, and guide talent development of direct reports.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of CRM experience.
  • 4+ years of ETL experience.
  • 4+ years of Azure experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server database design and administration.
  • 2+ years of managing engineering teams as a direct manager experience.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies used in waterfall or Agile development projects.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Agile tools, such as Confluence or Jira.
