About the position

Emory Specialty Associates (ESA) is seeking to hire Anesthetists, specifically Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAA), to become a vital part of Emory Healthcare's integrated academic healthcare system. The positions are located at Emory Specialty Associates at Spivey Station and Kaiser Permanente Southwood in Jonesboro, GA. The work schedule is flexible, offering full-time and part-time options, with a combination of 8 and 10-hour shifts available. Importantly, there are no calls, weekends, or holidays required for this role. The selected candidates will be responsible for assisting in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical and non-surgical procedures under the direction of an Anesthesiologist. This includes performing initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations, instructing others in anesthesia principles, and interpreting and recording patients' physiological and pharmacological status. The role also involves establishing multi-parameter monitoring of patients before, during, and after anesthesia, managing pre- and post-anesthetic care, and assisting in research projects as directed by the Anesthesiologist. Candidates should have general anesthesia experience in an ambulatory surgical setting, as this is highly preferred. The salary range for full-time positions is between $168,300 and $205,000 per year, based on years of experience. Part-time positions (20-31 hours per week) are also eligible for benefits. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients under the direction of an Anesthesiologist.
  • Perform initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations or as directed by a physician.
  • Instruct others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.
  • Interpret and record patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assisting the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.
  • Establish multi-parameter monitoring of patients prior to, during, and after anesthesia, including ECG, direct arterial pressure, and arterial blood gas determinations.
  • Manage pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support and other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist.
  • Assist in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master's Degree program.
  • Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
  • Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
  • Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
