About the position

As a Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Engineer on the Data Services Team at LinQuest, you will play a pivotal role in architecting solutions and providing technical leadership while adhering to modern design principles and engineering best practices. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a cross-domain network design that meets the needs of various stakeholders, including program managers, engineers, network specialists, cyber security experts, and test professionals. This position requires a collaborative approach, as you will be working in a cross-disciplinary environment to ensure the successful implementation and configuration of both cloud and on-premises lab environments and networks. In this role, you will provide hands-on support for digital engineering, implementation, deployment, and configuration tasks. Your technical expertise will be crucial in defining network requirements and implementing network designs that support prototyping and evaluation in a lab environment. You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of project execution, including the analysis and management of procurement, design, and execution of classified operational networks. Additionally, your experience in leading systems engineering and network development will be essential to the success of the projects you undertake. You will also be responsible for supporting and leading systems engineering activities within the Digital Infrastructure Division of the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management Program Executive Office. This includes developing systems engineering processes to architect and define components specific to data sharing across domains, assisting the government in setting up and maintaining cross-domain data sharing prototype networks, and delivering integrated information assurance systems that control access and transfer of information between security domains based on predetermined security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead systems engineering activities in support of the Digital Infrastructure Division of the Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management Program Executive Office.
  • Develop systems engineering processes to architect and define DAF Battle Network components specific to data sharing across domains.
  • Assist the government in setting up, gaining accreditation/approvals and maintaining cross domain data sharing prototype networks.
  • Deliver an integrated information assurance system composed of specialized software and hardware that provide a controlled interface to automatically enable and/or restrict access or transfer of information between two or more security domains based on predetermined security policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Communications (technical), Physics, or similar.
  • Understanding of fundamental requirements development and management processes.
  • Extremely motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a team environment.
  • Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams.
  • Strong experience as a Cross Domain Solutions engineer or team lead.
  • 5+ years' experience as a CDS engineer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or some other related field.
  • Experience with SysML in Cameo and SparxEA.
  • 10+ years of experience as a CDS engineer.
