About the position

As a Cryptographic Modernization Analyst, you will lead efforts to secure Department of Defense (DoD) communication systems and key management operations. This role involves assessing current policies, identifying risks, and developing strategies to enhance cyber resilience. You will collaborate with senior executives and military officers, providing guidance on cryptographic strategies and addressing emerging cybersecurity threats, including post-quantum cryptography.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures for cryptographic modernization and communication technology.
  • Assess risks related to current DoD cyber policies and recommend changes to align with evolving standards and regulations.
  • Provide strategic guidance on key management and cryptography practices, including post-quantum cryptography.
  • Support leadership in managing information security implications and operational readiness.
  • Mentor team members in technical competencies and policy compliance.
  • Communicate security strategies clearly and effectively to senior executives and military leadership.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • 12+ years in a technical or cybersecurity role (16 years without a technical degree).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (4 additional years may substitute for the degree).
  • Knowledge of cryptography, including key management.
  • Experience with communication security and communication technology.
  • Ability to clearly convey technical strategies and policy recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Experience developing dashboards and visual presentations for executive audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cryptographic solutions in the context of key management.
  • Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography.
  • Knowledge of managing actions and taskers within a government-standardized system.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP or equivalent).
