About the position

The Cryptographic Network Engineer, Mid role is essential for developing and maintaining secure network systems that support national defense missions. This position involves utilizing technical skills in cryptography, network analysis, and system administration to optimize network operations and ensure reliability and security for mission-critical systems. The engineer will work closely with clients to provide expert advice on network solutions and contribute to the modernization of military operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures to enhance network security and reliability.
  • Analyze and communicate complex technical challenges to clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and develop Test Reports, Test Procedures, and training documents.
  • Configure cryptographic products such as HAIPE, LEF, and STE.
  • Utilize network analysis tools like Wireshark and tcpdump to assess network performance.
  • Support the optimization of client operations and modernization efforts.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience executing test scenarios and working with test plans.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining Test Reports, Test Procedures, and training documents.
  • 2+ years of experience with configuration of cryptographic products, including HAIPE, LEF, and STE.
  • 1+ years of experience with Network Analysis techniques, including Wireshark and tcpdump.
  • 1+ years of experience with Host Operating Systems, including Windows and Linux.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate complex technical challenges to both technical and non-technical clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, CS, Mathematics, or Physics and 2+ years of experience working with networking and routing solutions, or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ or Network+ Certification within 90 days of start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience performing engineering activities for a DoD program.
  • Experience with cryptography and HAIPE solutions.
  • Experience analyzing cybersecurity policy and compliance.
  • Knowledge of planning and executing systems engineering technical reviews and milestones.
  • Knowledge of development of systems engineering artifacts and developing requirements that trace to customer-desired capabilities.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master's degree in an Engineering field.
