About the position

The Cryptologic Computer Scientist at BTS Software Solutions is responsible for performing data and computer science analysis to support customer operations. This role requires leveraging computer science expertise to solve complex mission problems, engaging in research, modeling, simulation development, and software design. The position is available at various levels (I-IV), depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform data and computer science analysis in support of customer operations.
• Leverage computer science expertise to solve mission problem sets.
• Engage in computer systems research, modeling, simulation development, and prototyping.
• Design and develop computer or information systems, including hardware and/or software.
• Participate in cross-Agency working groups and field assignments.
• Provide external customer support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with at least one programming and four upper-level math classes (Calculus and above).
• For entry-level positions: Associate's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
• For higher positions: Associate's degree plus 13 years of relevant experience, Bachelor's degree and 11 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 9 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in operating systems, compiler theory, database theory, algorithm analysis, computer architecture, discrete math, programming language theory, and data structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in reverse engineering and software design.
• Familiarity with computational science.
