About the position

The Financial Services (FS) Route Customer Service Agent (CSA) is responsible for managing and collecting delinquent funds on high-balance accounts assigned to CCS for third-party collection. This role involves overseeing over 400 accounts, engaging with customers to resolve outstanding debts while adhering to applicable laws and maintaining a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Collect delinquent funds on high-balance accounts assigned to CCS.
  • Manage over 400 accounts for a specific client.
  • Engage customers in a professional and customer-friendly manner.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local debt collection laws during interactions.
  • Follow verbal and written directions from supervisors and managers.
  • Acquire knowledge about CCS clients' loan programs to converse intelligently with customers.
  • Read and interpret information regarding clients, debtors, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in problem-solving and decision-making activities.
  • Perform skip tracing for accounts with incorrect contact data using various resources.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous working environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
  • One or more years of general collection experience with a collection agency preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills; motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Basic math and writing skills.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent full-time work schedule.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous skip tracing experience is highly preferred.
  • Coachable: receptive to feedback, responsive to change, willing to learn, and embraces continuous improvement.
