About the position

The CSIS Lead Investigator is a strategic professional responsible for coordinating and investigating high-level fraud matters and network security incidents. This role requires advanced expertise in investigative techniques and a strong understanding of fraud identification and prevention. The investigator will engage with various stakeholders, conduct complex investigations, and provide timely intelligence to mitigate risks to the firm and its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and investigate high-level fraud matters and network security incidents.
  • Utilize expertise in investigative interviewing, fraud identification, and loss prevention to identify fraud activities and trends.
  • Conduct proactive and complex investigations to develop cases and provide fraud preventive intelligence.
  • Engage partners and management to keep them informed of significant changes during investigations.
  • Recover losses through court-ordered restitution or direct payment by suspects.
  • Build relationships with law enforcement and industry peers for support.
  • Engage with suspects, witnesses, and third parties through interviews and evidence collection.
  • Represent Citi in criminal and civil court matters, providing accurate testimony.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members.
  • Brief others on ongoing investigations and projects.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in investigations.
  • Ability to conduct investigative interviews and record techniques that tie facts and evidence together.
  • Experience investigating complex cases with substantial impact.
  • Understanding of forensic and eDiscovery processes, including data collection and analysis.
  • Experience representing/testifying in court matters.
  • Mastery of investigative concepts and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of financial products, frauds, and trends.
  • Background in US Intelligence, military, law enforcement, or government service.
  • Experience in an in-house investigations team.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CAMS, CFE, and CFF.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products for compiling reports and spreadsheets.
  • Flexibility to work on call during critical project phases.
