About the position

The Construction Project Manager at Cedars-Sinai is responsible for overseeing the development of construction projects from inception to close-out, ensuring successful delivery and compliance with regulations. This role involves managing outsourced construction management firms, architectural firms, and general contractors, while collaborating with internal teams to meet project goals and maintain high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of all assigned construction projects from inception through project close-out.
  • Direct and manage outsourced construction management firms, architectural firms, and general contractors.
  • Collaborate with department architects and support staff throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of vendors, monitoring progress and providing reports.
  • Participate in project evaluation and development, making recommendations on cost, scheduling, and construction issues.
  • Manage departmental staff on new projects, ensuring effective budgeting and operational feedback.
  • Initiate and participate in productivity and quality improvements, benchmarking with other facilities.
  • Prepare, review, and monitor project budgets and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Medical Center policies, OSHPD policies, OSHA requirements, and other regulations.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with customers and internal teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Five years of progressive experience in the construction and renovation of healthcare facilities required.
