About the position

The Community Support Specialist (CSSP) role focuses on providing skills-building services to clients, including children and adolescents, to enhance their capabilities and support their mental health recovery. The position involves site-based service delivery, documentation of treatment plans, and collaboration with clients and their legal authorized representatives (LAR). The CSSP is expected to work part-time, primarily on weekends, and engage in ongoing communication and documentation to ensure effective treatment delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide skills building service delivery to clients, enhancing their capabilities, knowledge, skills, and assets.
• Assist clients in their recovery process to improve mental health and wellness, promoting self-directed independent living.
• Deliver site-based intensive services at locations such as clients' homes, schools, or adult day care facilities.
• Review and update treatment plans with clients and LAR, specifying recovery goals and interventions.
• Maintain and update schedules in Simple Practice calendar to avoid overlaps with other clients or case managers.
• Document progress notes in Simple Practice within 48 hours of client meetings, ensuring professional standards are met.
• Log all correspondence with clients and LAR in Simple Practice in a timely manner.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions, documenting necessary changes.
• Review and update treatment plans with clients after any modifications.

Requirements

• Must have 2 years of direct mental health care experience.
• Must have a high school diploma or higher education.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Must have current vehicle insurance.
• Must undergo a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations.
• Must submit a Tuberculosis Skin Test with a negative reading upon being offered the position.
• Must submit First Aid/CPR certification upon offer.
