About the position
The CST First Assistant position at Community Hospital in Munster, IN, is a part-time role focused on supporting surgical teams in a fast-paced operating room environment. Responsibilities
- Open sterile supplies, prepare the sterile field and set-up instruments.
- Assist the Surgeon by passing instruments, retracting and other tasks.
- Perform surgical counts with circulating nurse.
- Handle intra-operative medications, solutions and specimens.
- Use state-of-the-art supplies and equipment to get the job done.
Requirements
- Current certification in surgical technology.
- Completion of a CST First Assistant course with an awarded degree or certificate.
- Maintains certification as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through NBSTSA.
- Current CPR certification.
