About the position

The CSU Spur Start Project Manager will oversee the implementation and growth of the Spur Start pilot program at the CSU Spur campus in Denver. This role is crucial in enhancing educational access for diverse populations and will involve coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the program's success. The position emphasizes flexibility and aims to provide a supportive learning environment for first-year undergraduate students, ultimately contributing to the broader mission of Colorado State University.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a project development and implementation schedule to support the Summer 2025 launch of the Spur Start pilot.
  • Develop relationships and communicate with internal and external program contributors including executive leadership, department chairs, university faculty and staff, and pre-collegiate community partners.
  • Schedule, participate in, and manage team meetings, track progress on goals/deliverables and action items.
  • Track and assess progress toward project goals and objectives, prepare and provide project updates and reports to project partners and university leadership.
  • Collaborate with Spur Start leadership, department chairs, marketing and student success professionals to determine and deliver appropriate actions necessary to maintain high levels of program quality and financial sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Spur Start leadership to establish a data-driven approach to project assessment, refinement, and growth.

Requirements

  • Completed B.A./B.S. degree plus minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in project or program management.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute complex projects involving many diverse stakeholders on time and on budget.
  • Evidence of strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a computerized environment with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to obtain a driver's license or access to a licensed driver by the position start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree(s) a plus.
  • Previous professional experience in higher education, ideally at Colorado State University, and/or pre-collegiate programs at the high school level.
  • Professional commitment to expanding student access and work with diverse student audiences, documented success in this area preferred.
  • Track record of innovation resulting in project/program growth in a resource-restricted environment.
  • Experience in program evaluation/improvement.
