About the position

The Cyber Security Watch Officer - Level 3 position at Apex Systems involves monitoring and managing cybersecurity operations during the night shift. The role requires real-time synchronization of enterprise operational actions, maintaining situational awareness of cyberspace operations, and providing threat analysis and reporting. The position is critical for ensuring the security and integrity of the Department of Defense's networks and operations.

Responsibilities

• Leverage intelligence and operational data to identify threats and improve security.
• Execute continuous network monitoring and incident/problem resolution.
• Triage events and develop Area of Operations (AO) specific trends.
• Support collaborative forums to achieve coordinated vulnerability scoring and mitigation.
• Provide situational understanding of the assigned operational environment.
• Support the development and compliance of orders.
• Provide threat analysis and track prioritized incidents.

Requirements

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance and eligible for C/I Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 10-12 years of experience.
• IAM Level II certification (Network + CE, Security + CE, CySA+, CND, CISSP, CASP+ CE).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity operations/analysis.
• Experience with SIEM tools (ArcSight, Splunk, Wireshark, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of network/application protocols and cyber vulnerabilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with DISA and DoD Networks.
• Knowledge of the DoD orders process.
• Experience briefing Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership.
• Experience in building extended cybersecurity analytics.
• Experience in intelligence-driven defense and/or cyber Kill Chain methodology.
