About the position
The Reading Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join the Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This role involves working closely with Cardiothoracic Surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate and deliver patient care in a non-cardiac surgical environment. The Advanced Practitioner will serve as a clinical expert, facilitating communication among patients, families, and various hospital departments, while practicing within the limits of their licensure.
Responsibilities
- Perform consults and rounding, direct admissions, and discharges.
- First assist in surgery and run ICU at night during night call.
- Cover floor during the day and assist surgeons with pre-operative work.
- Prescribe and order pre and post-operative diagnostic studies.
- Perform history and physical exams (H&P's) and manage hemodynamic aspects of care.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in a relevant field.
- Active Professional Pennsylvania license (PA or NP).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- NCCPA Certification for Physician Assistants (if applicable).
- Relevant experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
