About the position

The CT Technologist position is a part-time role responsible for operating computerized tomographic (CT) scanners to obtain diagnostic images for physicians. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, administering contrast media, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The technologist will work evening shifts, including weekends and holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT scanners to obtain diagnostic images for physicians.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and administer oral and intravenous contrast media.
  • Review patient charts and radiological history to determine proper protocols.
  • Transfer patients to CT table and assist with positioning.
  • Explain procedures to patients and provide reassurance.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media during procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of patient and staff areas.
  • Document reactions and complications, following up with necessary personnel.
  • Schedule CT examinations to ensure optimal equipment utilization.
  • Perform duties of a general diagnostic radiologic technologist as required.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent education and experience.
  • ARRT(R) registered certification.
  • Preferably 6 months of CT and/or diagnostic imaging experience.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients.
  • Analytical skills to utilize knowledge of CT techniques and cross-sectional anatomy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced post-processing techniques.
  • Proficiency in vein puncture policies and techniques.
