About the position

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform Computed Tomography procedures in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. This role involves utilizing advanced CT systems, ensuring optimal image quality, and providing excellent patient care. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Computed Tomography procedures utilizing GE Revolution, Lightspeed, Brightspeed, and HD750 systems according to established protocols.
  • Conducts computerized post-processing of images using appropriate reconstruction software.
  • Addresses minor customer complaints and coordinates scheduling of inpatients and outpatients.
  • Performs Quality Assurance Tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality and performance.
  • Maintains equipment safety by performing daily Tube Warm Up and calibrations on CT scanners.
  • Communicates equipment issues to appropriate personnel and maintains cleanliness of diagnostic equipment.
  • Obtains patient history and documents all relevant clinical information for review by a radiologist.
  • Responsible for charging patient examinations and preparing images for interpretation by a radiologist.
  • Starts IVs, prepares and administers contrast material, and monitors patient condition during procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medical supplies and initiates requests for emergency medical support as needed.

Requirements

  • 12-24 months experience in radiology
  • Graduate of Radiologic Technology program
  • 2 hours of stroke education per year
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT procedures
  • Ability to perform all routine CT procedures
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Computer competency
  • ARRT Registry (RT)
  • IDNS License
  • CPR Certification
  • IV Certification within 3 months of hire
  • CT Registration within 1 year of hire
