About the position

The CT Technologist at Trinity Health Brighton Medical Center is responsible for operating computerized tomographic (CT) scanners to obtain diagnostic images for physicians. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, administering contrast media, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols while providing quality patient care. The position requires working evening shifts, every other weekend, and includes holiday and call obligations.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners to obtain diagnostic images for physicians.
• Prepare patients for procedures and administer oral and intravenous contrast media.
• Review patient charts and radiological history to determine proper protocols.
• Adhere to department policies for patient identification before procedures.
• Assist patients with positioning and apply immobilization devices as necessary.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media during procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient and staff areas.
• Document reactions and complications, following up with the patient's referring physician as required.
• Notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and ensure timely repairs.
• Schedule CT examinations to ensure optimal utilization of equipment.
• Maintain ARRT registry and BLS competency through continuing education.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ARRT(R) registered certification.
• Prefer 6 months of CT and/or diagnostic imaging experience.
• Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients.
• Analytical skills to utilize knowledge of CT techniques and cross-sectional anatomy.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cardiac CTA and colonography procedures.
• Proficiency in advanced post-processing on Vitrea.
