About the position

The CT Technologist position at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham is a per diem role focused on performing CT scans and other radiological procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. The role requires a high level of technical skill and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals. The technologist will follow departmental protocols, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate records while providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of specific and specialized duties and procedures for hospital in and outpatients in accordance with physician orders.
  • Follow departmental guidelines and protocols in the performance of all procedures in diagnostic radiology and CT, including infection control policies.
  • Schedule and document exams, maintaining accurate and complete records relative to the examinations performed.
  • Perform quality control on all equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Greet patients appropriately, provide education related to the exam, and ensure a complete medical record is available for the Radiologist.
  • Prepare, administer, and document all contrast material/injection information as required by policy.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • License American Registry of Rad Tech required.
  • Registration MA Rad Tech-Computed Tomography required.
  • Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • MA Licensed in Radiography and Computed Tomography.
  • ARRT in Radiography required.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • ARRT in Computed Tomography preferred.
  • Prior experience and knowledge with PACS and CR technology.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in CT Scan.
  • Experience with IV placement for contrast injections.
