About the position

At Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City, we are dedicated to providing compassionate care and exceptional service through our healing ministry. As a CT Technologist, you will play a crucial role in interpreting orders for requested exams, producing CT and diagnostic medical images, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during procedures. Your responsibilities will include positioning and transferring patients, selecting appropriate technical factors for each individual case, and operating imaging equipment as directed. You will also assist physicians in administering enhancing agents and medications, and be responsible for specific areas of authority in the performance of CT and special imaging techniques. In this role, you will need to proficiently operate and utilize all equipment related to the exams performed, including the computerized radiology information system and office equipment. You will be expected to assist in all areas of radiology as needed, functioning as a cooperative team member during weekend and evening shifts. Reporting any personnel and procedural incidents to the Section Manager is also part of your duties. Additionally, you will work in specialized areas as required and recommend the procurement and maintenance of imaging equipment. Maintaining current CPR certification and assisting in first aid when necessary is essential, as is staying current with the continuing education requirements set by credentialing agencies. Responsibilities

  • Interprets orders for requested exams and produces CT and diagnostic medical images.
  • Positions and transfers patients safely and effectively.
  • Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis and operates equipment as directed.
  • Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Assists physicians in administering enhancing agents and medications.
  • Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of CT and special imaging techniques.
  • Proficiently operates and uses equipment related to all exams performed, including the computerized radiology information system.
  • Assists within all areas of radiology as needed.
  • Functions as a cooperative team member on weekend and evening shifts.
  • Reports personnel and procedural incidents to the Section Manager.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training.
  • Experience and capability as determined to be adequate for the position.
  • A.R.R.T. registered or registry eligible upon hire, and A.R.R.T. achieved within six months of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • ARRT Advanced Level certification in CT Scan or working towards certification.
