As a CT Technologist, you will perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Responsibilities

• Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label.
• Charge procedures and supplies correctly.
• Assist in the administration and administers various chemical substances to render specific organs or systems opaquer.
• Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
• Review patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.
• Quality control all images, maintain inventory, and adhere to safety regulations.
• Participate in training of department personnel, including students.
• Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist with providing orientation and training to new CT technologists.
• Manage scheduling and patient flow on multiple interventional CT scanners.
• Assist with research and development with CT equipment manufacturer to develop new CT software and technologies when asked.
• Participate in research initiatives and development of research protocols.
• Monitor charging of CT procedures and supplies daily to ensure correctness.
• Participate in inter or intra departmental performance improvement.
• Accept patients and assess their condition to determine proper handling and specific requirements.
• Explain and prepare the patient for the exam requested.
• Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Maryland State License.
• CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology).
