About the position

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing patient care and technical expertise in the operation of CT equipment for diagnostic imaging purposes. This role involves working in a healthcare setting, specifically within the Harris Health System, which is dedicated to serving the residents of Harris County, Texas. The position requires a commitment to quality patient care and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and technical expertise in the operation of CT equipment.
• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using CT technology.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
• Maintain and operate CT scanners and related equipment.
• Document patient information and imaging results accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; must be a graduate of a JRCERT accredited program.
• Cert Medical Radiologic Tech by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
• Basic Life Support certification from an AHA approved program.
• Cert Computed Tomography Tech by the ARRT.
• Two years of experience in Radiological Imaging preferred.
• Above average verbal communication skills and writing/correspondence abilities.
• Proficiency in PC, MS Word, and MS Excel.
• Analytical skills and knowledge of medical terms.
