About the position

The CT Technologist at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for performing CAT Scan procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role requires independent judgment and technical expertise to acquire diagnostic images while ensuring patient care and safety. Responsibilities

• Perform CAT Scan procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in the CAT Scan room.
• Review scheduled patient requisitions and charts before exams.
• Administer opaque contrast material as directed by the Radiologist.
• Start IVs on outpatients requiring IV contrast.
• Draw labs for Creatine to expedite patient care.
• Communicate with nurses and physicians to facilitate patient care.
• Locate orders, lab work, allergies, and other resources in Power Chart.
• Send images to VRC and scan reports into PACS in a timely manner.
• Administer oral contrast to patients prior to exams as scheduled.
• Participate in training new CT technologists.
• Operate and troubleshoot the Cerner System for exam processing.
• Charge exams correctly on the Cerner System and manage PACS submissions.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and report equipment malfunctions.
• Follow hospital policy and maintain ethical relationships with staff.
• Demonstrate commitment to personal and professional development through continuing education.
• Maintain professional appearance according to dress code standards.
• Attend at least 50% of scheduled department meetings and obtain information from missed meetings.
• Provide patient transportation when needed.
• Perform other related duties as required by the Radiology Director or Manager.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School.
• Kansas State License LRT.
• Nationally Registered ARRT.
• ARRT Registered CT Technologist.
• AHA Healthcare Provider CPR.
