About the position

The CT Technologist position at UMass Memorial Health involves performing computed tomography imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role requires obtaining patient information, administering contrast media, and maintaining imaging equipment. The technologist will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to exceptional patient care and adhering to departmental policies and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record appropriate patient clinical information and/or history; verify physician orders and review relevant laboratory test results.
• Assist, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring their modesty and physical safety.
• Select and/or input appropriate protocol at Radiologist discretion for given patient symptoms; monitor computer function during examinations.
• Prepare and administer oral and intravenous contrast media as ordered; process images and document work accurately in HIS/RIS/PACS systems.
• Check operation of equipment and complete daily phantom quality assurance; maintain cleanliness of tables and equipment.
• Stay updated with changes in the field of computed tomography and/or radiologic technology through in-service study and professional development.
• Assist in other modalities as needed.

Requirements

• ARRT certification in Radiology is required.
• RTR licensure in Commonwealth Massachusetts is required.
• CT modality requires a Sub-specialty (CT) certification within 1 year of employment.
• BLS certification is required.
• Maintaining all area specific CEUs for ARRT, DPH according to regulation is required.
• Level of knowledge equivalent to that acquired through completion of an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
