About the position

The position involves operating equipment and performing procedures and diagnostics in at least two modalities, including Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Radiologic, and/or Interventional Radiologic. The role requires reviewing patient medical records to gather necessary clinical information, ensuring exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician orders, and providing radiation/magnetic protection and safety in compliance with regulatory agencies. The incumbent will position patients, select proper scanning factors, and may prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist. Post-processing of images is also required, along with maintaining records in accordance with regulatory standards and documenting billing codes for procedures performed. The role includes identifying equipment performance issues, performing quality assurance tests, and evaluating new products and equipment. Additionally, the incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care and assess patient needs based on their developmental stage.

Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment and performs procedures and diagnostics in a minimum of two modalities.
  • Reviews patient's medical record to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Provides patient with radiation/magnetic protection and safety.
  • Positions patient and selects proper scanning factors.
  • Post-processes images as directed and accurately identifies and labels images.
  • Maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies and documents billing codes.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and performs quality assurance tests.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.

Requirements

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • No experience required.
