CT Technologist

About the position

The Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Technologist is responsible for performing CT scan procedures and exams on patients, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to the ALARA principle. This role requires independent judgment and initiative to coordinate patient flow and manage the activities of the CT Scanner. The technologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for patients of all ages, including adults, geriatrics, and children, while also being aware of safety issues and recognizing signs of abuse or neglect.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescribed CT scan procedures and exams on patients.
• Coordinate patient flow and activities of the CT Scanner.
• Ensure adherence to the ALARA principle for all exams.
• Adjust protocols as necessary based on patient needs.
• Communicate instructions appropriate to the specific needs of the patient.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect in patients.
• Participate in continuing education programs to enhance professional growth.

Requirements

• Completion of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California in good standing.
• BLS Certification required.
• ARRT certification in Radiology; CT ARRT preferred.
• Six months to one year of prior experience as a CT Technologist preferred.
