CTAE Teacher (9-12)

About the position

This position provides quality standards-based instruction in the content area; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement, and ensures that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for career and post-secondary opportunities. The Computer Science teacher provides standards-based instruction in the area of Computer Science Education to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for career and post-secondary opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide standards-based instruction in Computer Science Education.
• Assess and encourage student progress.
• Manage an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
• Ensure students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry.
• Complete requirements to obtain and maintain Business/Computer Science industry certification when deemed appropriate.
• Spend a minimum average of 10 hours per month in instructional activities with Computer Science or FBLA students.
• Complete additional days of career-related instructional training.

Requirements

• Must hold a current Georgia teaching certificate or meet the professional qualifications as outlined in the District Improvement Plan (DIP).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Use of instructional technology and strategies.
• Classroom management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) activities.
• Participation in regional, state, and national FBLA conferences and competitions.
• Experience in industry certification trainings.
• Experience in business externship.
