About the position

The CTE Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair Teacher at Warren County High School is responsible for instructing students in automotive maintenance and repair, fostering their development into mature and responsible individuals. The role involves creating a conducive learning environment, planning and implementing educational programs tailored to student needs, and assessing student progress regularly.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated times and locations.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with student needs.
• Implements the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals.
• Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities of students and provides necessary reports.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies governing student conduct.
• Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintains order fairly.
• Makes provisions for availability to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and evaluates their performance.
• Maintains and improves professional competence by attending meetings and serving on committees.

Requirements

• Valid Tennessee Occupational Teaching License.
• Ability to manage and discipline students effectively.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
